Dermal filler injections can be more uncomfortable than anti-wrinkle injections however are infused with lidocaine to help reduce discomfort during and after treatment. Prior to lip injections a strong topical anaesthetic cream will be applied. Numbing effects will be felt within a few minutes and continues to work for a few hours. It's our priority to help you feel as safe and comfortable as possible.
Dermal filler results are instant however will continue to lift over the next 3 weeks.
As it is still unclear whether the mediations used for these treatments are transferred through breast milk, or impact an unborn baby during pregnancy, we DO NOT offer anti-wrinkle or dermal filler treatments for these women.
Treatments are not available for persons under 18, this includes parental consent.
Please reach out to the clinic and book in for a review appointment if you have any concerns following your treatment. If after 3 weeks, once most swelling and small bumps should have resolved, you are still not happy, HA dermal fillers can be dissolved with a medication call Hyaluronidase. Hyaluronidase is a naturally occurring enzyme that breaks down hyaluronic acid and can be injected to safely remove HA dermal filler if required.
Following your dermal filler treatment, you will feel tender, a little swollen and bruising may be apparent. This is all normal and should subside over the coming days. Below is a list of post treatment instructions to promote healing.
- Do not rub or touch the treatment areas for at least the next 4 – 6 hours to minimise your risk of infection.
- No strenuous exercise for the next 24 – 48 hours.
- No other facial or aesthetic treatments to the area for a minimum of 2 weeks.
- No face down massages for the next 7 days.
- No active skin care (retinoids / vitamin A / AHA’s) products for 24 hours after treatment.
- Do not massage, press or push the areas injected unless otherwise directed by your practitioner.
